Located in the historic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, the charming antebellum-era mansion holds 21 guest rooms and suites, each with its own unique history and design. You can truly make yourself at home here, whether relaxing with a cocktail, cooling off in the pool, or making use of the 24-hour fitness center.

When you’re not lounging about the property, you’ll be exploring the magical city of New Orleans. Stroll a few blocks toward the Mississippi River to visit the French Market, Café du Monde, and Jackson Square, all less than 15 minutes away on foot. At night, sample the city’s best dining, nightlife, and live music along iconic Bourbon Street and nearby Frenchmen Street.

On the eastern edge of the French Quarter, the newly renovated Melrose Mansion recalls what it might have been like to live in grand antebellum fashion in this historic Creole neighborhood along Esplanade Avenue.

The Melrose Mansion offers nine modern, stylish suites in the mansion itself and five more in the Napoleon House, located behind the main building. Each suite showcases white shuttered windows, ebony-stained hardwood floors, and cathedral ceilings. You'll enjoy a king or queen-size bed and an array of modern luxuries, including an LCD flat-screen television, 350-thread-count linens, high-speed wireless Internet, an all-marble bathroom, and luxury bath amenities.

The 919 Executive Suite Building was added to the Mansion's property in recent years and boasts our apartment-style luxury suites, comprised of four Residential Executive One Bedroom Suites and three Residential Studio Suites.

Weddings & Events

Sitting on historic Esplanade Avenue, on the edge of the French Quarter, the Melrose Mansion is the perfect setting for your New Orleans wedding. Our newly renovated luxury hotel is ideal for intimate weddings, which can be held inside the beautifully decorated Victorian mansion, poolside, or on the paved grounds behind the 919 Executive Suite building.

Our front indoor parlor can comfortably accommodate up to 55 chairs for a ceremony, the poolside area can accommodate up to 65, and the paved grounds can hold up to 100 chairs. Each space has the ability to transition into a reception venue, perfectly timed for the return of your second line down the famous Esplanade Avenue! Elopements and smaller wedding parties of less than 40 guests have a variety of options for ceremony spaces throughout the property. A full rental of the property is not necessary for weddings of this size, though the spaces used will not be private. For larger weddings and/or receptions of up to 120 guests, a 14- or 21-room rental is required.
